I’m a BMW brand loyalist and I love beer so I was excited about visiting the Bavarian capital of Germany in Munich. The weather was a bit gray during our stay but we only pulled out our umbrellas once or twice in the three days we were there. It’s not easily recognizable but there is something a little odd about Berlin and Munich. During WWII, both Berlin and Munich were bombed mercilessly by Allied troops and it gives both cities a very young feel; rarely do you see a building older than 60 years. It’s not immediately recognizable until you step foot into Italy and rarely see a building built in last century.

We arrived in Dresden via our lovely navigation guide and came across an old fortress like building surrounded by a half-empty moat. We decided to stop and head inside to look around as it was coming close to sunset and looked interesting inside. The combination of dark clouds and setting sun produced some spectacular pictures and rainbows.
It’s the 14th making this the 9th day of my trip and I’m just now finding time to sit down and recount the Germany/Czech leg of our journey. Although Dresden appeared as a run-down industrial city in some parts, other parts had suburban America-like strip mall qualities to them. We ate dinner in a funny mexican restaurant where …
