We arrived in Dresden via our lovely navigation guide and came across an old fortress like building surrounded by a half-empty moat. We decided to stop and head inside to look around as it was coming close to sunset and looked interesting inside. The combination of dark clouds and setting sun produced some spectacular pictures and rainbows.

It’s the 14th making this the 9th day of my trip and I’m just now finding time to sit down and recount the Germany/Czech leg of our journey. Although Dresden appeared as a run-down industrial city in some parts, other parts had suburban America-like strip mall qualities to them. We ate dinner in a funny mexican restaurant where people were chain smoking like mad. A bit different than the Chevy’s at 3rd and Howard in San Francisco! :)
