It seems like McDonald's is always open. I was visiting downtown Chicago on New Year's Day 2001 and McDonald's was the only food place open. It was actually pretty packed. My friends and I spent 4 hours wandering around a museum and it seemed like I recognized half the people inside McDonald's as fellow museum goers. Of course, we only chose the McDonald's after 30 minutes of searching in -10 degree weather. After that, cold ketchup was warm on the stomach and I gladly gave them my money.
